About Using JIMTOF 2020 Online

To participate in JIMTOF 2020 Online, you need to register as a user of the Nikkei Online Exhibition Center and apply for participation in JIMTOF 2020 Online.

The following terms and conditions apply to this usage registration and application for participation. Please be sure to read and agree to it. If you do not agree, you will not be able to participate in JIMTOF 2020 Online.

Terms of Use of Nikkei Online Exhibition

Article 1 Definitions

The definitions of terms in the Terms of Use of Nikkei Online Exhibition (hereinafter, "the Terms") are as follows:

  1. “Events Pro” refers to Nikkei Events Pro Co., Ltd.
  2. “The Service” refers to "Nikkei Online Exhibition," which is an event distribution platform service operated by Events Pro.
  3. “User” or “Users” refers to an individual (or individuals) who has applied for registration with Events Pro to use the Service and has been approved by Events Pro.
  4. “The Event” refers to exhibitions, symposiums, seminars and other events distributed by the Service.
  5. “Organizer” refers to a person who holds the Event.
  6. “Exhibitor" refers to a person who has an exhibition booth at the Event. Exhibitor provides Users with content such as materials and videos related to its products and services at the exhibition booth.
  7. “The Content” refers to materials, videos, images and other contents distributed by the Service.
  8. “Registration Information” refers to the name, address, e-mail address and other information registered by the User when using the Service.

Article 2 Application of the Terms

  1. The Terms defines the conditions for using the Service and applies to the rights existing between Events Pro and others such as Users regarding the Service. When using the Service, please be sure to read the Terms and accept them.
  2. In addition to the Terms, Events Pro may notify the conditions regarding the use of the Service on the website of the Service or by e-mails sent from Events Pro. In this case, such terms of use shall constitute a part of the Terms, and if there is any difference between such terms of use and provisions of the Terms, such terms of use shall prevail.
  3. If any provision or part of such provision of the Terms is found invalid or unenforceable by laws, regulations, etc., the remaining part of the Terms shall continue to be effective.

Article 3 User registration

  1. When the User applies for the use of the Service by the method prescribed by Events Pro, and Events Pro accepts the application, the contract for using the Service is finalized.
  2. User registration of the Service is free from charge.
  3. In the following cases, Events Pro may not accept the use of the Service. Also, in principle, no reason will be disclosed to rejected Users.
    • (1)When the User does not actually exist
    • (2)When contact cannot be made using contact information such as address, phone number, and e-mail address registered by the User
    • (3)When it is found that the registration information contains false or similarly inaccurate information
    • (4)When the applicant has been suspended from using the services operated by Events Pro or its group companies due to reasons such as a violation of the rules
    • (5)When providing the Service is difficult due to reasons related to Events Pro’s business execution or to technical reasons
    • (6)When Events Pro determines that the User is inappropriate due to other reasons
  4. An applicant under the age of 18 must have guardian's consent to apply for the Service.

Article 4 Method of use

1. Under the Service, uses of the Service by the User contain the following:
 (1)Applying for participation in the Event
 (2)Viewing, browsing, and acquiring granted Content of the Event
 (3)Exchanging contact information and messages with Exhibitor
 (4)Answering questionnaires about the Event, etc.
 (5)Other usage methods granted for the Service

2. Due to unavoidable circumstances such as natural disasters, accidents, fires, strikes, spreads of infectious disease, communication failures and equipment failures, as well as the reasons of Organizer and Exhibitor, there may be changes of the content, postponement or cancellation of the Event. In this case, in principle, the User is not eligible for compensation or alternative forms of measures, etc. from Events Pro or Organizer.

Article 5 Termination of the Service

If the User wishes to terminate the use of the Service, the User is requested to contact Events Pro by the method prescribed by Events Pro. Events Pro shall confirm this and notify the User that the termination procedure has been completed.

Article 6 User support

Inquiries regarding the Service shall be accepted at the e-mail address for inquiry.

Article 7 Management of authentication information

  1. The User shall manage e-mail address and password (hereinafter, "Authentication Information") for accessing the Service at his/her own responsibility.
  2. The User may not let a third party use his/her Authentication Information. If the User suspects that his/her Authentication Information has been misused by a third party, the User is requested to contact Events Pro immediately.
  3. The use of the Service using the User's Authentication Information and all acts associated therewith shall be deemed to be the use and acts by the User regardless of whether the use or act is made by the User himself/herself.

Article 8 Registration information

  1. Events Pro shall handle the registration information in accordance with the "Nikkei Online Exhibition Privacy Policy."
  2. If there is any change in the registration information, the User shall promptly change such information using the method prescribed by Events Pro.
  3. Events Pro will not be held responsible for any damages or losses as a result of the User neglecting to make the changes described in the preceding paragraph.

Article 9 Intellectual property rights, etc.

  1. Intellectual property rights, etc. of the Content shall belong to Events Pro, Organizer, Exhibitor or the legitimate rights holder of the Content who licensed to these persons.
  2. Unless the User has obtained permission from Events Pro, Organizer and Exhibitor, the User may not use the Content by means such as downloading, reproduction, publication, distribution, translation, adaptation and any other mode (hereinafter, "Illegal Use"). Distributing the Content on social media etc. shall be deemed Illegal Use as well.
  3. Notwithstanding the provision of the preceding paragraph, if there is a download button for the Content, the User may download the Content, but the Content cannot be used in any other mode except for downloading. However, if the legitimate rights holder of the Content explicitly permits a specific type of use, the User may use the Content in this way.
  4. The User shall accept that if the User violates the preceding two paragraphs, the rights holder of the Content has the right to suspend such an act of violation and the right to claim compensation for damages suffered by the rights holder as well as the right to claim the equivalent amount of profit obtained by the User.

Article 10 Prohibited items

  1. The User shall not transfer, enforce or provide as collateral the position under the Terms or all or part of the right or obligation under the Terms to a third party without prior written consent of Events Pro.
  2. When using the Service, the User may not perform the following acts:
    • (1)Acts that infringe or may infringe the rights of Events Pro, Organizer, Exhibitor or other Users, or any other person related to the Service
    • (2)Acts that discriminate against or defame others, or acts that damage the reputation or credibility of others
    • (3)Acts of using the Service while impersonating a third party
    • (4)Acts of lending or selling the Service to others
    • (5)Acts of collecting personal information of other persons without obtaining consent from such persons or by using fraudulent means
    • (6)Acts of interfering with use or operation of equipment of others or equipment for the Service (communication equipment, communication lines, computers, other equipment and software prepared by Events Pro to provide the Service, hereinafter the same shall apply in the Terms)
    • (7)Acts of using the malfunction or failure of the Service for an illegal purpose or communicating the malfunction or failure of the Service to others
    • (8)Acts of interfering with the operation of the Service, acts of damaging the credibility of Events Pro or infringing the property of Events Pro or acts of disadvantaging others or Events Pro
    • (9)Acts of violating laws and regulations and public order and morals
    • (10)Other acts that Events Pro determines to be inappropriate based on reasonable grounds

Article 11 Suspension of use

  1. When Events Pro finds that the User falls under any of the following, Events Pro may suspend the User from the use of the Service or unsubscribe the User without prior notice to the User (hereinafter, collectively referred to as "measures such as suspension of use").
    • (1)When another person makes a complaint or claim to Events Pro regarding the use of the Service by the User, and Events Pro deems it necessary
    • (2)When Events Pro determines that Article 10 (prohibited items) has been violated or may be violated
    • (3)In addition to the preceding items, if the User violates the Terms and does not correct the violation within a reasonable period of time even after such a correction is demanded by Events Pro
    • (4)When the use of the Service is not confirmed for a certain period of time
    • (5)Other than above, when Events Pro determines that measures such as suspension of use are necessary
  2. Events Pro shall assume no obligation to answer inquiries and complaints regarding measures such as suspension of use.
  3. When Events Pro suffers damages caused by the User's violation of the Terms, Events Pro may claim compensation from the User for the relevant damages suffered.
  4. When there is any damage incurred by the User by measures such as suspension of use taken by Events Pro, Events Pro shall assume no responsibility.

Article 12 Change, discontinuation, etc. of the Service

Due to unavoidable circumstances such as system repair and maintenance, communication failure or equipment failure, Events Pro temporarily discontinue all or part of the Service without prior notice to Users. In principle, Users shall not claim compensation from Events Pro in such circumstances.

Article 13 Disclaimer and compensation for damages

  1. For the details of the Content provided by the Event and exhibition booth and for method for using personal information etc. by Organizer and Exhibitor, Organizer and Exhibitor shall take direct responsibility for Users. For any inquiry regarding such matters, please make direct contact with Organizer and Exhibitor. Regarding matters such as the Event, exhibition booth and the details of the Content, Events Pro shall not guarantee their authenticity, accuracy, up-to-dateness, usefulness, reliability, legality or non-infringement of a third party’s rights.
  2. When providing the Service, if any damage is incurred by the User due to reasons attributable to Events Pro, limited to the cases of intentional or gross negligence of the Events Pro, Events Pro shall be liable for normal damages actually incurred by the User.

Article 14 Governing law and jurisdiction

The Tokyo District Court shall be the exclusive court of jurisdiction in the first instance when a need for a lawsuit arises out of or in connection with the Terms. In addition, the governing law for the Terms shall be Japanese law.

Article 15 Change of the Terms

  1. In addition to cases where it conforms to the common interests of Users, when a change of the Terms does not go against the purpose of the contract for using the Service and is reasonable in light of various circumstances such as the need for changing the Terms and the appropriateness of the contents of the change, Events Pro shall change the contents of the Terms without obtaining consent from Users.
  2. When changing the Terms, Events Pro shall inform Users of the change and the effective date of the change.

Nikkei Online Exhibition Privacy Policy

Nikkei Events Pro Co., Ltd. (hereinafter, “Events Pro”) will handle the personal information acquired from users (hereinafter, “Users” or “the User”) of the Nikkei Online Exhibition (hereinafter, “the Service”) in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

1. Acquisition of Personal Information

Events Pro will acquire the following information in its provision of the Service:

  • (1)When the User registers to use the Service:

The information entered by the User in the user registration form such as their e-mail address, name, company name, department name, job title, address, phone number, etc.

  • (2)When the User uses the Service:

Service event participation history, browsing history data, website browsing date and time, visited URLs, computer terminal IP address, operating system, browser type, screen resolution, referrer information (from which website the User visited the Service)

  • (3)In addition to the information prescribed in each of the preceding items, the information entered by the User in input forms on the Service.

2. Purpose of Use of Personal Information

Events Pro will use the User's personal information for the following purposes. And Events Pro may separately notify the User or specify the purpose of use.

  • (1)E-mail address, name, company name, department name, job title, address, phone number, etc.:
  • - To identify and manage the User, to verify the User’s identity when they log in to the Service;
  • - To provide information about events on the Service, etc.;
  • - To provide information about other events held by Events Pro and Nikkei, etc.;
  • - For questionnaires and surveys for marketing;
  • - To handle and respond to User enquiries;
  • - To provide the User's name and e-mail address, etc. to each event organizer, exhibitor and sponsor (with the prior consent of the User)
  • (2)Service event participation history, Service website browsing history information:
  • - To analyze usage of the Service;
  • - For improvement of the Service and new development;
  • - To provide the User with content and event information related to their interests;
  • - To confirm the User information when they access the website

3. Joint use

Events Pro will jointly use the personal information acquired from the User through the Service prescribed in Article 1 together with Nikkei Inc. (hereinafter, “Nikkei”) - the Service system owner, for the purpose of use prescribed in Article 2 and Events Pro shall be the party responsible for the management of personal information.

4. Legal Basis for Processing Personal Information

Events Pro will acquire and process personal information for the purpose of use stated in this Privacy Policy with the consent of the User. The User may withdraw their consent at any time in the manner separately specified by Events Pro.

5. Provision of Personal Information to Third Parties

Events Pro may provide the personal information acquired from the User to the organizers, exhibitors and sponsors of events in which the User has participated with the prior consent of the User. In this case, the name of the third-party recipient(s) of the User's personal information and their purpose of use of that information will be stated on each event participation application form. Events Pro concludes contracts, etc. with third-party recipients of the User's personal information which oblige them to handle the personal information in compliance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (hereinafter, “GDPR”) and related laws and regulations while having consideration to the User's privacy. Please contact the third-party recipient of personal information for further details about their handling of personal information.

6. Cross-Border Transfer of Personal Information

Events Pro may transfer the User's personal information to countries outside the EU, including Japan, in order to achieve the purpose of use. The rights of the data subject prescribed in the GDPR may not be recognized in countries outside the EU, however Nikkei guarantees that sufficient measures to protect the User's personal information will be ensured through the conclusion of standard contract clauses based on the GDPR, etc.

7. Opt-out of Cookie Data

Events Pro uses a technology called cookies to collect browsing history data from Users who access the Service. If you do not wish for your browsing history data to be collected, then please opt out for each of the following cookie issuers.

8. Retention Period

Events Pro will retain the User's personal information for as long as necessary to achieve the purpose of use described in this Privacy Policy. The specific retention period is determined by considering the purpose of use of personal information, the nature of personal information, and the legal or business need to retain personal information.

9. Rights of the User


  • (1)The User may undertake procedures to: (i) confirm their personal information; (ii) correct, make additions to or delete their personal information, or exercise portability rights; (iii) suspend the use of their personal information; and (iv) suspend the provision of their personal information to third parties.
  • (2)The User will not be subjected to discriminatory treatment by reason of having exercised their rights prescribed in the preceding item.
